A Xerox technician has identified the cause of the issues and error codes affecting both printers and devices sending print jobs at 草莓污视频导航. The printer on the 12th floor has been successfully repaired, and a temporary fix has been applied to the 8th floor printer.
Additionally, printing on the 8th floor may be temporarily impacted again while a permanent fix is implemented in the coming days, pending the arrival of a replacement part from Xerox.
Important Reminder for All 草莓污视频导航 Community Members:
To help prevent printer malfunctions and safety hazards, use only plain paper (no plastic, vinyl, transfer paper, or sticky materials). These additional paper-based materials can cause paper jams or even pose fire risks.
If you鈥檙e considering using a different type of paper, please contact the Education Commons team in advance. We鈥檒l be happy to help you find a safe and suitable solution.

Following a thorough investigation by our Education Commons team, the printing issue appears to be limited to the printers on the 8th and 12th floors.
A Xerox technician has been dispatched to address the problem. We will provide further updates once the issue is resolved.

Investigating
There are currently reported issues with the Xerox printers in the 草莓污视频导航 Building. When community members attempt to print, error messages appear both on the printers and on the devices that sent the print jobs. 草莓污视频导航 community members are unable to clear these messages.
So far, the issue has been reported on the 8th and 12th floors. The Education Commons team is investigating and will assess other printers throughout the building to determine the full extent of the issue.
The LISTSERV application will be unavailable to all 草莓污视频导航 and 草莓污视频导航 community members from:
- Start time: June 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm
- End time: June 12, 2025, at 5:00 pm
During this outage, users will not be able to send/receive LISTSERV emails or access the administrative interface of LISTSERV.
草莓污视频导航 community members are encouraged to send any LISTSERV emails before June 11 or after June 12 to avoid disruptions.
Full service to the Student Supervision Application has been restored.

We are currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all users of the 草莓污视频导航 Student Supervision application.
We are actively investigating the issue, and Education Commons will provide updates to the community as soon as it has been resolved.
According to Zoom, the global issue affecting all Zoom accounts is beginning to recover. Services should resume normal operations shortly.

Following this weekend鈥檚 scheduled power outage, several printers located throughout the 草莓污视频导航 Building are currently experiencing network connectivity issues. Consequently, users are unable to send or print using these devices.
A fix has been implemented to the 草莓污视频导航 Hiring application. The application should now be operating as intended.

We are currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all users of the 草莓污视频导航 Hiring application. Users may encounter a 500 or server related error when attempting to complete various tasks.
A workaround has been implemented, and services for UTMail+, Azure, and Microsoft 365 are gradually resuming this afternoon.

Individuals at the 草莓污视频导航 Building (252 Bloor Street West) may experience issues with UTMail+, Azure, and Microsoft 365 services being unavailable or not loading at this time.
An upcoming change driven by Microsoft will affect the "U of T Report Phishing" button in Outlook in the coming days. The change will be implemented between February 7, 2025, 5:00 PM and February 10, 2025, 5:00 PM.

The "U of T Report Phishing" button in MS Outlook is being updated to support Microsoft鈥檚 new authentication method. This update will enhance security in MS Outlook at 草莓污视频导航 and the 草莓污视频导航. It aims to combat phishing attempts and unauthorized access, ultimately improving the functionality and effectiveness of the button.
During the change the U of T Report Phishing button will disappear from Outlook.
You can still report phishing by:
- Forwarding the suspicious email to report.phishing@utoronto.ca.
- Deleting the email from your inbox after forwarding it to prevent any accidental interactions.
- Creating a ticket with the and notifying us of the phishing/malicious email.
After the change:
The appearance and functionality of the "U of T Report Phishing" button will return to it's original state within MS Outlook.
Note: The U of T Report Phishing button is NOT supported for shared mailboxes.
The 草莓污视频导航 Education Commons will be closed from December 24, 2024, to January 5, 2025, inclusive. During this time, tickets submitted through the 草莓污视频导航 Online Service Hub will not be monitored. All tickets received will be addressed starting January 6, 2025.

We are currently experiencing an Error 500 in the 草莓污视频导航 Hiring System. This issue occurs when users attempt to post a job or generate certain reports. Students and applicants are not affected and can continue using the application without interruption.
To enhance and prepare for the launch of a new ticketing system that the Education Commons team will implement next week, our chat support option will be unavailable to the 草莓污视频导航 Community starting November 22, 2024, at 5:00 PM ET.
We anticipate introducing a new chat feature in Spring 2025. In the meantime, we encourage you to use other communication methods to connect with our team. We appreciate your understanding.
As of 10:00 PM ET on November 19, 2024, the maintenance work on the Pepper website and application has been successfully completed. Both platforms are now accessible to all users.
From the evening of November 13, 2024, until the morning of November 22, 2024, PeppeR will be taken offline for maintenance.
During this time, both the PeppeR website and application will be inaccessible to all users. Thank you for your understanding as we work to enhance our services.
The issue with MS Teams Phone has now been resolved. Physical phones within the 草莓污视频导航 building that depend on MS Teams Phone for making calls are now operational.

The 草莓污视频导航 is currently experiencing a widespread outage with MS Teams Phone. As a result, 草莓污视频导航 community members may be unable to use physical phones located within the 草莓污视频导航 building that rely on MS Teams Phone for making calls.
Please be advised that on Monday, September 9th, at approximately 7:00 AM, Central IT will conduct critical maintenance on the wireless infrastructure. During this time, a brief loss of wireless connectivity is expected as network reconfigurations are performed.
This maintenance is part of our efforts to enhance the stability and performance of the wireless network at 草莓污视频导航. Contact Education Commons if you experience any issues following the maintenance.
The wired network at the 草莓污视频导航 building was restored on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
草莓污视频导航 community members using the internet at the 草莓污视频导航 building and utilizing the wired network will now need to log in using their uTORID and password. Devices will no longer automatically connect.
The wired network will generate a pop-up window prompt for this purpose.
The wired network at the 草莓污视频导航 building is scheduled to be restored from August 20 to 22, 2024. This work entails updating network switches on every floor and as a result will produce several wired network outages.
Printers throughout the 草莓污视频导航 building will be offline during this work. The wireless network will remain operational, and departmental signage, specifically digital screens, will not display content.
During this time, those on the 8th and 12th floors who utilize wired network connections are asked to switch to the wireless network.

Investigating
Please be advised that the wired internet network within the 252 Bloor Street West 草莓污视频导航 building is currently unavailable. Users are advised to switch their internet settings to the wireless network where possible and may find delays in printing. Printing at the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study is also unavailable.
This outage does not impact the 4th floor, Library, LSM classrooms, or any other internet-based services.
The duration of this outage is unknown at this time.
A careful forensic investigation into the information security incident involving 草莓污视频导航 servers has now identified those individuals (mainly alumni) whose personal information may have been exposed. Notification letters are being sent starting today 鈥 only individuals whose personal information may have been exposed will receive a notification letter.
To prevent future incidents, we have changed all administrative passwords for the systems and reset them. We have also installed next-generation anti-virus software for all staff and faculty computers for enhanced protection, re-built and re-secured impacted servers (and decommissioned others), and rebuilt 草莓污视频导航鈥檚 printing services. Expect to hear more from us in the future about educational efforts to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
There is no indication that this incident has extended beyond 草莓污视频导航. Unfortunately, governments, international corporations and public institutions around the world are being targeted by cyber criminals. 草莓污视频导航 and U of T information technology teams are learning more about the information security incident that was detected at 草莓污视频导航 on April 22. It appears that some 草莓污视频导航 servers containing personal information may have been exposed. We are taking this matter seriously and have engaged external experts to support our ongoing investigation.
We are working to understand if any information was extracted from the servers and, if so, which individuals may be affected. It will take time to complete the investigation, so we ask for your patience and understanding. Updates will be shared as details are confirmed.
